Surah 100 · Makki · 11 ayat

Al-'Adiyat

The Courser

العاديات

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَٱلْعَـٰدِيَـٰتِ ضَبْحًا۝١

Saheeh InternationalBy the racers, panting,

Abdel HaleemBy the charging steeds that pant

فَٱلْمُورِيَـٰتِ قَدْحًا۝٢

Saheeh InternationalAnd the producers of sparks [when] striking

Abdel Haleemand strike sparks with their hooves,

فَٱلْمُغِيرَٰتِ صُبْحًا۝٣

Saheeh InternationalAnd the chargers at dawn,

Abdel Haleemwho make dawn raids,

فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِۦ نَقْعًا۝٤

Saheeh InternationalStirring up thereby [clouds of] dust,

Abdel Haleemraising a cloud of dust,

فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِۦ جَمْعًا۝٥

Saheeh InternationalArriving thereby in the center collectively,

Abdel Haleemand plunging into the midst of the enemy,

إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لِرَبِّهِۦ لَكَنُودٌ۝٦

Saheeh InternationalIndeed mankind, to his Lord, is ungrateful.

Abdel Haleemman is ungrateful to his Lord––

وَإِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٌ۝٧

Saheeh InternationalAnd indeed, he is to that a witness.

Abdel Haleemand He is witness to this––

وَإِنَّهُۥ لِحُبِّ ٱلْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ۝٨

Saheeh InternationalAnd indeed he is, in love of wealth, intense.

Abdel Haleemhe is truly excessive in his love of wealth.

۞ أَفَلَا يَعْلَمُ إِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِى ٱلْقُبُورِ۝٩

Saheeh InternationalBut does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered

Abdel HaleemDoes he not know that when the contents of graves burst forth,

وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِى ٱلصُّدُورِ۝١٠

Saheeh InternationalAnd that within the breasts is obtained,

Abdel Haleemwhen the secrets of hearts are uncovered, on that Day,

إِنَّ رَبَّهُم بِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّخَبِيرٌۢ۝١١

Saheeh InternationalIndeed, their Lord with them, that Day, is [fully] Aware.

Abdel Haleemtheir Lord will be fully aware of them all?
