Az-Zalzalah

إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا۝١

Saheeh InternationalWhen the earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake

Abdel HaleemWhen the earth is shaken violently in its [last] quaking,

وَأَخْرَجَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا۝٢

Saheeh InternationalAnd the earth discharges its burdens

Abdel Haleemwhen the earth throws out its burdens,

وَقَالَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا لَهَا۝٣

Saheeh InternationalAnd man says, "What is [wrong] with it?" -

Abdel Haleemwhen man cries, ‘What is happening to it?’;

يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا۝٤

Saheeh InternationalThat Day, it will report its news

Abdel Haleemon that Day, it will tell all

بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا۝٥

Saheeh InternationalBecause your Lord has inspired [i.e., commanded] it.

Abdel Haleembecause your Lord will inspire it [to do so].

يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ ٱلنَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِّيُرَوْا۟ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ۝٦

Saheeh InternationalThat Day, the people will depart separated [into categories] to be shown [the result of] their deeds.

Abdel HaleemOn that Day, people will come forward in separate groups to be shown their deeds:

فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُۥ۝٧

Saheeh InternationalSo whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it,

Abdel Haleemwhoever has done an atom’s-weight of good will see it,

وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُۥ۝٨

Saheeh InternationalAnd whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it.

Abdel Haleembut whoever has done an atom’s-weight of evil will see that.
