Al-Qadr

إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةِ ٱلْقَدْرِ۝١

Saheeh InternationalIndeed, We sent it [i.e., the Qur’ān] down during the Night of Decree.

Abdel HaleemWe sent it down on the Night of Glory.

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ۝٢

Saheeh InternationalAnd what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?

Abdel HaleemWhat will explain to you what that Night of Glory is?

لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ۝٣

Saheeh InternationalThe Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.

Abdel HaleemThe Night of Glory is better than a thousand months;

تَنَزَّلُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ۝٤

Saheeh InternationalThe angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.

Abdel Haleemon that night the angels and the Spirit descend again and again with their Lord’s permission on every task;

سَلَـٰمٌ هِىَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ ٱلْفَجْرِ۝٥

Saheeh InternationalPeace it is until the emergence of dawn.

Abdel Haleem[there is] peace that night until the break of dawn.
