At-Takathur

أَلْهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ۝١

Saheeh InternationalCompetition in [worldly] increase diverts you

Abdel HaleemStriving for more distracts you

حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ ٱلْمَقَابِرَ۝٢

Saheeh InternationalUntil you visit the graveyards.

Abdel Haleemuntil you go into your graves.

كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ۝٣

Saheeh InternationalNo! You are going to know.

Abdel HaleemNo indeed! You will come to know.

ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ۝٤

Saheeh InternationalThen, no! You are going to know.

Abdel HaleemNo indeed! In the end you will come to know.

كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ ٱلْيَقِينِ۝٥

Saheeh InternationalNo! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty...

Abdel HaleemNo indeed! If only you knew for certain.

لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ۝٦

Saheeh InternationalYou will surely see the Hellfire.

Abdel HaleemYou will most definitely see Hellfire,

ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ ٱلْيَقِينِ۝٧

Saheeh InternationalThen you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.

Abdel Haleemyou will see it with the eye of certainty.

ثُمَّ لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ۝٨

Saheeh InternationalThen you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure.

Abdel HaleemOn that Day, you will be asked about your pleasures.
